Our Approach
Our strategic trading approach is based on two premises—trading smaller pieces generally results in lower transaction costs, and trading quietly with an unpredictable pattern can result in better executions of our trades. The dual goal of our trading approach is to minimize risk in the portfolio and preserve portfolio value.
Critical Communication
During the pre-trade process, traders and portfolio managers discuss which trading techniques will ensure effective implementation of our trading strategy. For each trade list, the portfolio manager reviews the amount of shares to be traded versus the median volume and will scale back a trade as appropriate to reduce market impact. Our trading desk works with multiple brokers in determining which brokers will achieve the most advantageous overall results upon execution of the transaction.
