Enhanced Indexing
The Enhanced Large Cap and Enhanced Mid Cap strategies invest in large and mid capitalization stocks in the U.S. based on a proprietary ranking process which utilizes fundamentally-based factors to identify stocks with relatively higher expected returns. The portfolio seeks to exceed the benchmark while maintaining similar index characteristics. Tracking error is moderate but expected to be less than that of a traditional active U.S. equity strategy.
130/30
Our 130/30 strategies use proprietary composite rankings of fundamental factors to identify attractive and unattractive U.S. stocks and take long and short positions accordingly. These strategies are designed to short approximately 30% of the portfolio and use the proceeds to obtain long equity exposure of approximately 130%. A market beta of approximately 1 is maintained at all times.
Equity Market Neutral
The Equity Market Neutral strategy takes long and short positions in U.S. stocks while seeking to maintain a beta of zero and a neutral position in terms of style, sector, industry, and dollar value. Investment decisions are based on Mellon Capital's proprietary fundamentals-based stock ranking process.
